Cuckoo clocks

Cuckoo clocks

Made from wood, the cuckoo clock has been a symbol of old world craftsmanship and attention to detail

Check out the video on the page at http://www.cuckooclocks.com/about-us.asp

I am sure some would cringe at some of the techniques used to machine wood, but the scroll saw was impressive.

That's a great mix of old and new. They started off by showing nice slabs of wood, and then cut right to a case made from what appeared to be a sheet of ply. But later show the guys carving from the thicker pieces.

I cannot imagine doing that day after day for a carreer however.

All I can say is that one would get really good at carving leaves. I could spend a few months there learning how to carve. Then I could do a hand carved Grandfathers clock.
