Ready to move up to a better spray gun

Postby Rickbaro » Mon Jul 16, 2012 1:37 pm

I have one of those $39 HF HVLP conversion guns, and it's been okay I guess. Seems to still put out a lot of overspray, but I can't seem to get it to lower the overspray without affecting the paint delivery. I already drilled out the tip, which admittedly was crude, and it helped some.

I know I could get a $1,000 SATA gun, or a nice HVLP system, but I don't know if I want to spend that much for something I use two-three times per year (maybe I do?).

Any recommendations for a medium quality gun? Most come with a solvent based tip, so I'd want a gun that I could buy different sized tips for to shoot oil based stuff.
