Delta bandsaw question

Postby Wheels » Thu Apr 12, 2012 6:40 pm

For those of you familiar with the Delta bandsaw bottom mechanism shown below, how hard should it be to slide that
bar back and forth? I assume that once assembled, it should slide with the turn of the knurled knob?

This one from my 768 is tight with a capital T. Everything is clean and lubed. I think perhaps getting aggressive with the roloc pad created slide resistant swirls?

That lower guide is going to be snug by virtue of the springs and wedges that are used.

If you can't move it with the adjusting screw by hand, then something is wrong.

Thats what I thought and I'm sure the screw would not move it as it takes force to move it in its present state. I need to smooth out the bar and that should help,

Thanks

Try putting a very thin layer of grease on the wedges and the plate. All you need a enough to feel, not see. That should help.
